We have extensive skills on each of the IBM 4690 legacy POS applications. Our team includes people that participated in the original development of these applications, as well as developers that were part of the maintenance and enhancement team for these same applications for over ten years. We have established partnerships with our customers, which has lead to long term business relationships and a strong track record of success. A number of our customers have used our 4690 services for over ten years. We have supported customers in every segment that IBM POS applications support, ranging in size from ten stores to over 2,000.

We also have partnerships with third party technology companies, enabling us to bring new technology to our 4690 customers as they continue to extend their POS investment. We approach technology investments where possible such that new technologies can also integrate with a new POS system if our customer chooses to migrate.

Our commitment is to understand our customers' business objectives and long term strategies, and play a significant role in helping them achieve those goals. We accomplish this with fixed price contracts and projects that are delivered within the retailer's budget, on time, and with a high quality of code.

4690 Services Mission Statement

The MATRA Systems 4690 Services business area will be committed to assist its customers to reach both their tactical business objectives and long term strategic goals. This requires a strategy of demonstrating that we can enhance the retailer's 4690 platform with new technology and new function on a continuous basis. If the retailer is considering a migration to a new POS platform, the 4690 Services team will assist the retailer in continued investment in its current platform in a manner that will enable the new technology investment to be protected and re-useable in the new platform.

The 4690 Services team will establish itself as the strongest 4690 team in the world, able to compete with any other 4690 provider, including IBM. Our team will partner with other providers where appropriate, but will compete at every opportunity that is identified. This will be true regardless of the IBM POS application, the retail segment, or the size of the retailer. It is also true regardless of whether the POS project is specific to checkout support, back office support, loyalty, payments, coupons, store operations, or emerging technologies driven by the retail industry or third parties that earn the interest of MATRA retail customers.
